Attending the SBS Drama Media Day "SBS DRAMA: NEXT EPISODE" held on the morning of June 1 at Hotel Naru Seoul MGallery in Mapo-gu, Seoul, So Ji-sub showed his confidence, saying, "I still have no issues physically. I can do action for another 10 years."
The new SBS Friday-Saturday drama Agent Kim Reactivated (written by Nam Dae-jung, directed by Lee Seung-young and Lee So-eun), in which he plays the lead role, is a father-universe revenge action drama about the "most ordinary" father in the world who becomes the "most dangerous" man to rescue his only daughter. Based on the webtoon of the same name, the series is set to premiere on Friday, June 26.
In the drama, So Ji-sub plays Manager Kim, who works as a manager at an ordinary small savings bank, but whose true identity is a former secret agent dispatched on countless special operations. To rescue his daughter, Manager Kim steps back into a dangerous world alongside his friends Seong Han-su (played by Choi Dae-hoon) and Park Jin-cheol (played by Yoon Kyung-ho), with So Ji-sub performing a wide variety of action scenes.
Returning to an SBS drama for the first time in 13 years, So Ji-sub shared, "Since I made my acting debut in an SBS drama, it feels like home to me. Even though it has been a long time, I filmed warmly and comfortably." He added, "The action in Agent Kim Reactivated is fundamentally driven by the emotions of Manager Kim and his friends. There is hand-to-hand combat, knives, guns, and car explosions. The diverse action scenes will deliver a refreshing payoff," raising expectations.
So Ji-sub has already been dreaming of a multi-season format for Agent Kim Reactivated. He cautiously remarked, "I carefully think that after the broadcast, many people might wonder how the characters are doing and be curious about what happens next. There is plenty of room to expand the story of Manager Kim and his friends, so it is highly feasible as a multi-season series." He added, "But first, I think receiving love from many viewers comes first."
Agent Kim Reactivated will premiere on Friday, June 26 at 9:50 p.m. KST, following the currently airing drama My Royal Nemesis.
