It has belatedly come to light that BTS's SUGA participated in and completed a 12km marathon on the day of the group's Stanford concert in the U.S., sparking a massive buzz.

The San Francisco Chronicle, a leading daily newspaper in the San Francisco area, recently highlighted SUGA's marathon participation in an article titled "BTS star Suga creates buzz with Bay to Breakers participation."

According to the report, SUGA participated in "Bay to Breakers," a long-distance running event held in San Francisco on May 17 (local time). Running since 1912, this iconic 12km race in the U.S. is famous for its course that traverses San Francisco. It is particularly known for its challenging difficulty, featuring steep uphill sections.

The report stated that SUGA completed the race with a time of 1 hour, 4 minutes, and 43 seconds. His average pace per mile was 8 minutes and 41 seconds, placing 1,022nd out of 20,530 total participants, which lands him in the top 5%.

What makes this even more astonishing is that after completing the marathon, SUGA took the stage that very evening for BTS's world tour concert at Stanford Stadium. While SUGA delivered a highly passionate performance during the concert, his legs appeared slightly uncomfortable toward the end of the show. It is said that worried fans could not hide their amazement after later finding out that this was the aftermath of the marathon.

During a Weverse Live broadcast held after the concert, the BTS members personally shared the behind-the-scenes story of SUGA's marathon run.

V explained, "Yoongi hyung said he needed to go on a diet and has been running so hard. He ran 10km every day." JIMIN also shared details about the day, saying, "He woke up at 6 a.m. on the day of the concert and went to a famous marathon. Before going up for the encore stage, his calves were so swollen that he was limping. We were really worried about him."
