Actors Gang Dong-won, Um Tae-goo, and Park Ji-hyeon have raised expectations by teasing their transformation into a three-member co-ed group for the movie 'Wild Sing,' which has now released an introductory video showcasing its characters.
'Wild Sing' is a comedy film about 'Triangle,' a three-member co-ed dance group that once swept the music scene but disbanded overnight due to an unexpected incident. The story follows their reckless challenge to seize a chance at a comeback 20 years later.
'Wild Sing,' which has garnered attention for the idol-concept visuals of Gang Dong-won, Um Tae-goo, and Park Ji-hyeon that break their previous images, perfectly recreated the magazine cover style that dominated the music scene back in the day. The presence of 'Triangle' gracing the cover, accompanied by the tagline "The co-ed group that will strike South Korea is returning!", immediately grabs attention.
In particular, the visuals and styling of the 'Triangle' members, who boldly wore full outfits in the team's signature 'red, green, and blue' primary colors, are instantly overwhelming.
The simultaneously released member introduction video draws laughter by sharply contrasting their past glory with their current reality. 'Triangle' leader 'Hyun-woo' (Gang Dong-won) was once a 'dance machine' who took over the stage with flashy moves, but he has now devolved into a 'livelihood machine' struggling to make ends meet.
'Triangle' youngest member 'Sang-goo' (Um Tae-goo), who used to roam the stage as a 'storm rapper,' appears as a 'total flop rapper' living a difficult reality. While barely getting by as an insurance planner, he still induces pathetic laughter with his undying passion, such as explaining policy terms to clients through rap.
Adding to the film's vitality is the twist in the charm of 'Triangle' center 'Domi' (Park Ji-hyeon). Contrary to her fresh and lively 'absolute charm' in front of the camera, she blurts out rough language like "I'll slap you" behind the scenes. Even after becoming a daughter-in-law of a conglomerate family with 'absolute wealth,' her irrepressible, fiery instincts pop out, delivering refreshing thrills in every scene.
Finally, the appearance of ballad prince 'Sung-gon' (Oh Jung-se), who introduces himself by saying, "I'm your pretty Sung-gon, who has been in 2nd place for 38 weeks," captures attention at once. Once an icon of 'capturing women's hearts,' his unpredictable behavior―leading one to wonder how he ended up engaging in 'actual hunting'―sparks curiosity.
'Wild Sing' will be released on June 3.
