According to a report by the Financial News on the 22nd, "The Mu," a corporation co-founded by MC Mong and CEO Cha Ga-won, sold the building in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, to Noh Hong-chul after about a year and a half. The entity had originally purchased the building from television personality Kang Ho-dong for 16.6 billion won in November 2024.
Noh Hong-chul purchased the building for approximately 15.2 billion won, meaning the transaction took place at a price about 1.4 billion won lower than the original purchase price.
The building consists of one basement level and five floors above ground, with a land area of 253.95㎡ and a total floor area of 593.17㎡, and is located in the main commercial district of Garosu-gil.
The Mu was established in November 2024, with MC Mong serving as an executive director and CEO Cha Ga-won as the CEO at the time. It was known that the building was intended to be used for content production and as a complex cultural facility. However, after MC Mong stepped down from his position as general producer last year citing health issues and plans to study abroad, the specific usage of the building has not been confirmed.
It is reported that Noh Hong-chul financed a significant portion of this purchase through loans. A mortgage with a maximum bond amount of approximately 18 billion won has been set on the building, and considering this, the actual loan amount is estimated to be in the range of 14 billion to 15 billion won.
This transaction is drawing attention as it intersects with recent issues in the entertainment industry beyond a simple real estate deal. One Hundred, which is connected to The Mu, has recently been embroiled in conflict over allegations of "unpaid payments" for its artists.
In the industry, issues regarding payment delays for some artists have been raised since the second half of last year, and claims have continued that payments have not been received since the third quarter of 2025. With major artists such as THE BOYZ and CBX continuing their activities despite these issues, the controversy appears to be spreading.
