The film 'The King's Warden' has smashed records at the box office, surpassing 150 billion won in gross revenue.

According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated box office system on the 30th, 'The King's Warden' drew 511,885 moviegoers from March 27 to 29, ruling the weekend box office for eight straight weeks. Its cumulative admissions stand at 15,615,930. Now the No. 3 film of all time in Korea, it has closed the gap with No. 2 'Extreme Job' (16,266,641 admissions) to about 650,000.

In terms of revenue, it has already outgrossed the all-time No. 1 'The Admiral: Roaring Currents' (17.61 million admissions, 135.7 billion won) and No. 2 'Extreme Job' (16.26 million admissions, 139.6 billion won). Buoyed by this weekend’s turnout, 'The King's Warden' pushed its cumulative gross to 150.7 billion won. With a net production budget of 10.5 billion won, the film has delivered roughly a 14x return on investment.

Now entering its ninth week, 'The King's Warden' is expected to surpass the final admissions of 'Extreme Job' within the week. It ranks No. 2 in advance ticket sales behind new release 'Project Hail Mary,' but is still leading daily admissions by a slim margin, keeping its momentum strong.
