With BTS’ comeback just a day away, RM sustained an ankle injury during rehearsal, and parts of his performance will be limited.

On the 20th, BIGHIT MUSIC shared an update on RM’s participation in “BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG,” scheduled for March 21.

According to the agency, RM injured his ankle during rehearsal on the 19th and was taken to the hospital for a thorough examination. He was diagnosed with an accessory navicular sprain, a partial ligament tear, and a talus contusion with ligament damage and inflammation. After getting his leg casted, doctors advised him to keep movement to a minimum for at least two weeks.

BIGHIT MUSIC explained, “Because this comeback stage is set in the symbolic space of Gwanghwamun Square, the artist was determined to deliver a flawless performance. However, prioritizing medical guidance, we decided to minimize RM’s movements to prevent aggravating the injury.”

As a result, RM will take the stage with limits on choreography and certain performance elements.

“Although there will be restrictions, RM will join the stage within safe limits to connect with fans,” the agency added, asking for fans’ understanding.

BTS will hold “BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG” at 8 p.m. on the 21st at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, unveiling stages for the title track and other new songs.

On the 23rd (local time), BTS will team up with global audio and music streaming platform Spotify for the “Spotify X BTS: SWIMSIDE” event in New York City. On the 25-26th, they will appear on NBC’s "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" to keep the global comeback momentum going.
