SBS’ "Finding Genius: Infinity" dropped stills from set, capturing the explosive chemistry of its three hosts, Cha Tae-hyun, MIMI, and Mimiminu.

The revived "Finding Genius: Infinity" is a generation-bridging project that discovers gifted kids across Korea and follows how their talents grow and transform. It levels up the original format by tracking the post-show journeys of former prodigies while introducing a “second generation” of new talents. Drawing on years of production know-how, the show spotlights six powerhouse fields and pairs a “previous prodigy” with a “next-gen prodigy” in 1:1 matches. Their meetings focus on conversation and collaboration―not competition―promising a fresh look at how talent evolves.

Now, first-look photos from the trio’s debut studio recording have fans buzzing.

In the stills, the three hosts lean in―surprised one moment, completely absorbed the next―as they listen to the prodigies’ stories. Also spotted in the studio is Kang Jun-gyu, who earned the nickname “robot prodigy” when he appeared on "Finding Genius" in 2018, instantly drawing attention.

Back then, at just 10 years old, Kang was introduced as a “paper-folding boy dreaming of becoming a robotics engineer,” and he became a hot topic. “I’ve made robots by folding paper every single day since I was four,” he said at the time. Eight years later, he returns to the studio as a warm, college-ready teen―bringing big smiles to the three hosts. He also shares huge news: he’s been accepted to the University of Oxford. The announcement stuns the hosts, who celebrate like it’s their own win and dive deeper into his story―amping up curiosity for the premiere.

Producer Lee So-jung said, “It’s especially meaningful to have Kang Jun-gyu―first featured eight years ago―join our premiere. Please look forward to Kang’s heartwarming update about his University of Oxford acceptance, and to the new prodigy he’ll meet this time.”

"Finding Genius: Infinity", featuring the trio Cha Tae-hyun-MIMI-Mimiminu and a guest appearance by “robot prodigy” Kang Jun-gyu, premieres Thursday, April 2 at 9 p.m.
