SBS caster Chung Woo-young and commentators Lee Dae-ho and Lee Soon-chul unveiled “WBC's Inferno,” a lethal-charms teaser that gives "Single’s Inferno" a run for its money.

SBS announced its 2026 World Baseball Classic (WBC) broadcast team and, on the 19th, dropped a teaser video with a “WBC's Inferno” concept parodying the hit dating show "Single’s Inferno"―instantly grabbing baseball fans’ attention. It’s a bold move to break away from stiff, old-school sports coverage and connect with viewers in a more playful, approachable way.

After a female voice-over declares, “Welcome to the hottest hell on earth―WBC's Inferno,” Chung Woo-young, Lee Dae-ho, and Lee Soon-chul appear like "Single’s Inferno" contestants, each showing off their charms. Chung Woo-young says, “My charm is my baritone voice,” projecting pure professionalism―then winks and jokes, “People fall for me once I start talking,” sparking laughs.

The showstopper is the transformation of “Joseon’s No. 4 Hitter” Lee Dae-ho. Contrary to his solid, imposing build, he highlights his self-proclaimed charm point: “I get told I’m sexy when I work out,” sending the set into laughter. Known for his sharp-tongued critiques, Lee Soon-chul defines himself as “crispy on the outside, soft on the inside,” adding, “I like people who say what needs to be said. Like me,” and flaunting his signature confidence.

An SBS Sports Division representative said, “This ‘WBC's Inferno’ teaser signals our commitment to delivering both fun and depth in the 2026 WBC broadcast. With the Chung Woo-young-Lee Dae-ho-Lee Soon-chul trio calling the action as if they’re on the field with our players, we’ll give it everything we’ve got. Join us on SBS.”

With this “dream-team” chemistry, SBS will deliver a breakneck broadcast schedule from the Osaka exhibition games to the main tournament in Tokyo.

Coverage kicks off Monday, March 2 at 12 p.m. with the Korea vs. Hanshin exhibition game, followed by Tuesday, March 3 against Orix. When the WBC officially begins on Thursday, March 5, SBS will broadcast live from the Tokyo Dome to bring the heat. Key games―3/5 (Thu) Korea vs. Czech Republic, 3/6 (Fri) Japan vs. Taiwan, 3/7 (Sat) the much-anticipated Korea-Japan showdown, 3/8 (Sun) Korea vs. Taiwan, and 3/9 (Mon) Korea vs. Australia―will be called live by the Chung Woo-young-Lee Dae-ho-Lee Soon-chul trio.
