Based on a true story, this film achieves a balanced tone that allows audiences around the world to relate to it with ease.” She added that she’s delighted to introduce a hidden chapter of Korean history to global viewers.
Set in 1457 in Cheongnyeongpo, "The King's Warden" follows a village head who voluntarily goes into exile to revive his community and a young former king who has been deposed and banished. The film opened on the 4th and surpassed 4 million admissions nationwide in Korea in just 15 days.
