On the January 25 episode, the beloved actress appeared as a special MC and kicked off the Lunar New Year vibes by bringing traditional rice cakes (tteok) for the show’s moms panel―nicknamed the “Momvengers.” They greeted her with, “You haven’t changed a bit―you look exactly the same.”
Choi’s classic K-drama hits are still having a moment overseas. A Japanese outlet recently ranked "Stairway to Heaven" at No. 5 among “all-time life dramas,” with "Winter Sonata" landing at No. 1. Asked if she still feels the global love, Choi smiled, “They rerun the shows every winter, and when I travel in Japan, older fans still recognize me.” When the panel insisted she looks just like she did back then, she joked, “No way―I was prettier then.”
She also revealed a nostalgic run-in: Choi lives in the same building as her "Stairway to Heaven" co-star Kwon Sang-woo and said she happened to bump into him in the elevator just yesterday.
Calling herself the “poster girl for late-in-life moms,” Choi shared that she often swaps parenting tips with Kim Tae-hee―and that their kids even attend some of the same after-school programs.
When the panel asked who her daughter takes after, Choi laughed: “She’s absolutely adorable in my eyes. As for matching Mom’s looks, she might need a little time. She’ll probably get prettier as she grows.”
