EXO proved they’re still a force with a buzzy turn at the Melon Music Awards ― and they’re keeping the momentum going with a comeback showcase on Jan. 19.
The group will drop its eighth studio album, "REVERXE", on Jan. 19 at 6 p.m. KST, unveiling nine new tracks. A comeback showcase will follow at 7:30 p.m. KST at the Grand Peace Palace at Kyung Hee University in Seoul’s Dongdaemun District.
At the showcase, EXO will premiere songs from the new album live for the first time, share behind-the-scenes stories from the creative process, and celebrate their first comeback in about two and a half years with fans.
At the 2024 Melon Music Awards (MMA), EXO debuted the new track “Back It Up,” igniting buzz. The high-octane set ― powered by precision choreography and a large dance crew ― had the arena on its feet and even sparked a thunderous singalong from younger artists in the crowd. They also turned up the heat with signature hits including “Monster,” “The Eve,” “Love Shot” and “Growl.”
“Back It Up” is a hard-hitting dance cut laced with brassy synths and heavy 808s, carrying a defiant message about proving yourself at the summit after a long stretch in the dark. The large-scale performance, featuring the members alongside more than 40 dancers, leaves a lasting impression.
"REVERXE" marks the first full-length since SEHUN completed his military service and also features LAY, who had previously signaled the end of his group activities. Due to ongoing legal proceedings, CHEN, BAEKHYUN and XIUMIN will sit out promotions for this release.
Pre-orders for EXO’s eighth LP, "REVERXE", are underway at major online and brick-and-mortar retailers.
