Hyun Bin is opening up about his love story with wife Son Ye-jin.
Appearing on the YouTube channel “Fairy Jaehyung” on Dec. 21, the actor reflected on how the couple met and eventually began dating.
The pair first teamed up in the 2018 thriller "The Negotiation" and reunited in the 2019 global hit K-drama "Crash Landing on You", which sparked multiple rounds of dating rumors at the time.
Hyun Bin confirmed they became a couple after "Crash Landing on You" wrapped. He explained that during "The Negotiation" they barely shared scenes, so he hoped they’d work together again in a different project―and that turned out to be "Crash Landing on You". He added that they started their careers around the same time and had similar paths, so conversation came easily.
Asked by host Jung Jae-hyung when he fell for Son, Hyun Bin said there wasn’t a single lightning-bolt moment. “It just seeped in over time as we talked more while working together―like a slow soak,” he shared.
In November, the couple made history at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards, winning Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively―the first time a married pair has taken home both lead acting prizes at the ceremony.
“I received my award first, but when my wife’s name was called, I think I was even happier,” Hyun Bin recalled with a smile.
