Dancer and choreographer Choi Ho-jong will be the first Korean dancer to perform at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, USA. He has been invited to showcase the essence of 'K-Dance' to a global audience at the 'K-Culture Night at the Academy Museum with KCON' event, scheduled for July 31st (local time).
Choi Ho-jong plans to reinterpret the meaning of Director Bong Joon-ho's film 'Parasite' through a creative performance set to its soundtrack, using the unique language of dance to bring cinematic emotions to life on stage. This performance will add significance as it coincides with a special exhibition on Director Bong Joon-ho at the Academy Museum, running until January 2027.

Notably, 'Parasite' recently topped the New York Times' survey of 'The Best Movies of the 21st Century', conducted among over 200,000 subscribers, and also claimed the number one spot in a list of 'The Top 100 Movies of the 21st Century', based on evaluations from 500 film industry professionals and insiders last month. This collaboration with a globally acclaimed film is expected to be a significant and symbolic moment in the history of Korean dance.
Through this performance set to the music of the critically acclaimed and popular film 'Parasite', Choi Ho-jong will fully display his overwhelming technique and unique expressive power, delivering a powerful artistic impact to the audience.
The 'K-Culture Night at the Academy Museum with KCON', where Choi Ho-jong will present his special performance, is a unique cultural event that focuses on the artistry and identity of K-Culture, featuring a variety of programs that encompass the breadth of Korean popular culture. Global audiences in attendance will have the opportunity to directly experience the cultural depth and artistic value of K-Content.
Previously, Choi Ho-jong also garnered a hot response with his solo performance '2025 CHOI HOJONG 1ST MOVENOTE ' held last May. Tickets sold out within a minute of going on sale, and the event climbed the ranks of real-time search queries on ticketing sites, highlighting the growing popularity of the dance genre. Notably, this performance was recorded as the first solo dance performance in the Korean dance community, showcasing his unparalleled artistry and planning skills.
Furthermore, Choi Ho-jong is set to showcase 'K-Dance' in front of global Hallyu fans as part of the lineup for 'KCON LA 2025', taking place from August 1st for three days. On a stage primarily focused on K-Pop and mainstream content, he will unfold the artistry of 'K-Dance', solidifying his presence as a unique artist who freely traverses between the realms of fine arts and popular culture.
With his unprecedented entrance onto the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures stage and his continued efforts to share the artistry of 'K-Dance' with the world, Choi Ho-jong is forging his own path. The journey he embarks on the global stage from here on is highly anticipated.
