After 19 years in the comedy scene, Lee Guk-joo has revealed why she left her familiar life behind to start anew in Tokyo, Japan.
On the 23rd, Lee Guk-joo shared a glimpse of her new 9-pyeong studio apartment in Tokyo on her YouTube channel.
While settling into her new place, Lee Guk-joo opened up, saying, "I haven't explained why I came here." She continued, "I'm now forty, and it's been 19 years since my debut, with my 20th anniversary coming up next year. But for the past 4 to 5 years, it felt like I was just going through the motions, doing what was asked without any real excitement."
Lee Guk-joo then emphasized, "I wanted a new challenge, something to reignite that spark. The idea of learning a new language came to mind, thinking it might open up new opportunities in the future. So, with the mindset of cherishing and enduring hardships like a newcomer, I decided to start my life in Tokyo, aiming for a valuable experience rather than fearing failure."
Lee Guk-joo appeared on Comedy TV's 'The Strongest Table' last June.
