'Sal Mok Ji' (working title) is a horror movie that follows a film crew as they head to a reservoir to update a road view map, only to encounter something mysterious lurking in the dark, deep waters.
Kim Hye-yoon, who captivated audiences both domestically and internationally with her role in the hit drama 'Lovely Runner,' is aiming for the title of 'Horror Queen' with 'Sal Mok Ji' (working title). In the film, she plays 'Soo-in,' a character who experiences a series of inexplicable events during a business trip to the reservoir.
Kim Hye-yoon has already made a name for herself in the film industry, winning Best New Actress awards at the Blue Dragon Film Awards and the Grand Bell Awards for her role in 'A Girl on a Bulldozer.' Her next film project is generating significant interest.
Lee Jong-won, known for his versatility in various roles, joins Kim Hye-yoon in 'Sal Mok Ji' (working title) as 'Ki-tae,' who partners with 'Soo-in' to unravel the reservoir's mystery. Lee, who has proven his range from romantic comedies to medical dramas, and most recently in the historical drama 'Knight Flower' and the youth romance 'Brewing Love,' is taking on the horror genre for the first time. This marks his debut as a lead in a commercial film.
The film is directed by Lee Sang-min, who has been recognized as a promising talent in the Korean film industry with award-winning short films like 'Honor guard' and 'Hamjinabi.' The production is handled by The Lamp, known for hits like 'A Taxi Driver' and 'Samjin Company English Class.'
With the cast confirmed, 'Sal Mok Ji' (working title) is set to begin filming in May.
