On March 4, his agency Pledis Entertainment released behind-the-scenes footage from the final filming of the Tving original drama 'Study Group' (written by Eom Seon-ho and Oh Bo-hyun, directed by Lee Jang-hoon and Yoo Beom-sang) on Hwang Min-hyun's official YouTube channel.
In the video, Hwang Min-hyun expressed, "I was given a wonderful opportunity to work on an action genre project that I had always wanted to do, so I was very excited and started with a joyful heart." He added, "I am confident that the hard work we put in will yield great results." He also expressed gratitude, saying, "Most importantly, I am thankful for the connections I made with the director, the amazing staff, and my fellow actors."
During the final shoot, which took place in freezing temperatures, Hwang Min-hyun showcased his professionalism by staying fully immersed in his role. Despite the cold weather causing his ears to turn red, he received an 'OK' sign on the first take due to his exceptional focus. He also expressed his appreciation for a surprise event organized by the staff, which involved a car trunk filled with goodies, making the final shoot even more memorable.
Hwang Min-hyun played the lead role of Yoon Ga-min in 'Study Group,' earning acclaim for what fans are calling his 'life character.' He demonstrated a remarkable synchronization with the original webtoon character, showcasing a wide acting spectrum that ranged from high-octane action to nuanced emotions, which resonated strongly with viewers.
Thanks to Hwang Min-hyun's impressive performance, 'Study Group' received positive reviews and became the number one contributor to Tving's paid subscriptions for five consecutive weeks. The series also ranked first and second in major countries worldwide through global OTT platforms Rakuten Viki and Viu, proving its global popularity.
Meanwhile, Hwang Min-hyun is currently serving as a social service worker as part of his alternative military service.
