On February 4, Choo Young Woo sat down for an interview at a café in Gangnam, Seoul.
When asked how he first got into acting, Choo Young Woo said, "After a career counseling session at school, I started overthinking everything. That night, I went home and told my mom, 'Mom, I'm done with studying. There's no major I want to pursue.'"
He continued, "To that, my mom asked, 'Then what are you going to do?' and I said, 'I actually received a business card from an entertainment agency while walking down the street the other day. How about I give this a shot?' I was almost 19 at the time, but she just laughed and said I was too old for it."
Then, Choo Young Woo shared that the agency that tried to scout him at that time was in fact JYP Entertainment.
In response, the reporters commented that he had the "JYP look," and he responded, "But honestly, JYP Entertainment probably doesn't even remember me. The person who gave me the card might not even work there anymore—it was nine years ago."

The actor said, "When I listed out all the things I enjoyed, acting stood out the most. That's when I decided to go for it and started preparing for theater and film school in my last year of high school."
When asked how his parents reacted, he said, "They didn't oppose it at all. I was a little worried at first, but they just said, 'Okay.' It actually made me wonder if they'd already considered this possibility because they agreed so easily."
He added, "They supported me in every way. At the time, we were living in Chungcheong-do, but just a month after I told them I wanted to act, we moved to Seoul. It was because Seoul had better acting academies. They literally moved because of me."

Lately, he has been getting a lot of attention for his impressive acting in "The Tale of Lady Ok," "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call," and more.
