[SBS Star] Jung Chae-yeon Says She Cried While Watching BIGBANG's Performance·Revisited I.O.I Days

Actress Jung Chae-yeon talked about crying while watching K-pop boy group BIGBANG's recent performance. 

On the 27th, Jung Chae-yeon held an interview at the BH Entertainment building in Nonhyeon-dong, Seoul, following the conclusion of her drama "Family by Choice." 

Jung Chae-yeon, formerly a member of girl group DIA, gained immense popularity as a member of project group I.O.I through Mnet's survival audition show "Produce 101." 

Interestingly, the airing period of "Family by Choice" coincided with projects featuring fellow I.O.I members Kim Sejeong, Kang Mi Na, and Kim Doyeon.

When asked if they share feedback with one another, Jung Chae-yeon responded, "I'm generally unaware if people around me watch my work. My older sister watches, but she doesn't say anything about it. Some I.O.I members, though, have reached out after watching. CHUNG HA and Kang Mi Na messaged me; Mi Na, in particular, told me she was completely immersed in the drama. I also try to watch the projects my fellow members are involved in as much as I can." 
Jung Chae-yeon also revealed that she recently rewatched I.O.I performances, and the reason was unexpected—it was because of BIGBANG.

She explained, "I cried a lot while watching BIGBANG's performance at the 2024 MAMA Awards. I just kept crying and got really emotional. I listened to a BIGBANG medley while walking my dog in Seoul Forest afterward. When I got home, I found myself revisiting my own performances out of curiosity." 

She added, "There's no place as exciting as the stage; it will always hold a special place in my heart. While I love acting and consider film sets my stage as an actress, there's a special thrill to performing as a singer. I recently attended a showcase by EUNICE, who I performed with as part of DIA, and watching her shine on stage was truly inspiring. There's nothing cooler than someone on stage. If I ever hold a fan meeting, I'd love to perform again." 

Wrapping up the topic, Jung Chae-yeon thrilled fans by sharing her thoughts on an I.O.I reunion, saying, "If the opportunity comes up, I'd be ready at any time."
