[SBS Star] WINNER YOON Talks About Why He Reads Hate Comments on Purpose

K-pop boy group WINNER's leader YOON revealed the reasons why he purposely searches for hate comments about him.

On May 2, YOON appeared on tvN's variety show 'Secret Garden' as a guest.

During the talk, YOON revealed that he intentionally looks for hate comments about him online. He said, "I'm always reading hate comments about myself. I actually look for them. But there haven't been that many of them recently, so I spend time going through all the comments just to find hate comments."

Then, one of the hosts Jung Hyung Don asked in confusion, "Why do you do that? Why do you make yourself stressed out?". YOON answered, "I honestly hate reading hate comments. They really hurt my feelings. The thing is though, not many people criticize me these days." He continued, "One day, I realized that I had gotten too comfortable that I wasn't trying as hard to better myself. That made me feel uneasy. It made me keep questioning myself whether if I was doing right." After listening to YOON's response, Jung Hyung Don jokingly suggested, "If you want more hate comments, you should do something bad."

Everybody at the studio laughed, but quickly told Jung Hyung Don how bad his idea was.

Meanwhile, YOON's group WINNER is busy promoting its latest title track 'EVERYDAY' released on April 4.
