[SBS Star] BTS: First K-pop Act to Earn No. 1 on Billboard 200!

K-pop sensation BTS has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with its third full album 'LOVE YOURSELF 轉 Tear'.
According to Billboard on May 27 local time, BTS' 'LOVE YOURSELF 轉 Tear' has entered the Billboard 200 chart at No. 1 for the week ending on June 2.

With this unprecedented record, BTS became the first K-pop artist ever to reach the top on the Billboard's main albums chart.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the United States, and the chart is based on multi-metric consumption, including traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

The album, released on May 18, started off with 135,000 units with 100,000 being traditional album sales, 26,000 SEA units and 9,000 TEA units―biggest week for the K-pop genre.

It is also the first non-English album to top the chart in over 12 years, after classical crossover quartet Il Divo's 'Ancora' in 2006.
