[SBS Star] The Story Behind Kang Daniel's High School Dropout

K-pop boy group Wanna One's Kang Daniel shared his personal story during a talk show.

On March 22 aired episode of MBC's 'Radio Star', Wanna One's Kang Daniel, Ong Seong Wu and Park Woo Jin made a guest appearance along with BIGBANG's SEUNGRI.

During the show, Kang Daniel addressed various rumors surrounding him.
He said, "Many people think I'm a foreigner because of my name 'Daniel'. I officially changed my name after searching it from the bible. My name was 'Kang Eui-geon' before." As for the rumors about him being kicked out of high school, Kang Daniel denied, "There's a rumor about me getting kicked out of high school, but I dropped out on my own."

He continued, "I got into an arts high school because I solely focused on dancing. But the tuition was so expensive for my family."
He also shared, "My parents got divorced when I was young, so my mother raised me on her own. I rarely get in touch with my father as we are both so busy."
Meanwhile, Wanna One has released its comeback mini album '0+1=1 (I PROMISE YOU)' with the title track 'BOOMERANG' on March 19.
