The film 'COLONY' is enjoying a massive box office run, not only in South Korea but also across major regions in Asia.
In Malaysia, where it premiered on May 22, 'COLONY' made waves by overtaking 'Exhuma' within just three days of its release to rank third on the all-time Korean box office chart in the country. As of May 30, the film has amassed a cumulative revenue of approximately 15,800,000 MYR, climbing to second place on the all-time Korean box office chart in Malaysia, just behind 'Train to Busan'.
In Taiwan, which premiered the film on the same day as Malaysia, 'COLONY' continues its successful run, recording a cumulative revenue of approximately 115,000,000 TWD as of May 31.
In the Philippines, where it opened on May 27, the film achieved a cumulative revenue of approximately 68,500,000 PHP in just five days, instantly claiming the number two spot on the all-time Korean box office chart behind 'Train to Busan'. Singapore, which also premiered the film on the same day, recorded approximately 715,000 SGD as of May 31, surpassing 'Exhuma' and putting it on track to enter the top three highest-grossing Korean films of all time in the country.
In Hong Kong, 'COLONY' grossed approximately 1,400,000 HKD on its opening day on May 28, setting the record for the highest opening day box office for a Korean film since 'Peninsula' in 2020. As of May 31, it has accumulated a box office total of approximately 6,400,000 HKD, continuing its hot streak.
Domestically, 'COLONY' has held the number one spot at the box office for 12 consecutive days, surpassing 3.5 million admissions. It is highly expected to cross the 4 million mark sometime this week.
