ZOBIN of the group NORAZO is receiving praise for his heartwarming, previously undisclosed support for a fan who was battling terminal cancer.
The older sister of the late Kwon Ji-na, a fan of NORAZO, recently shared the messages her sister had received from ZOBIN during her lifetime.
According to the sister, the late fan, who was a devoted follower of ZOBIN, was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer on September 12, 2024. While going through a difficult time after quitting her job to undergo chemotherapy, she reportedly reached out to ZOBIN, sharing that she "found strength in watching ZOBIN even amidst deep despair."
In response, ZOBIN sent a sincere, long-form reply. He offered his support, saying, "I send my respect and admiration for how well you are overcoming such a great trial," and added, "They say you don't smile because good things happen, but rather that good things happen because you smile."
He continued with warm words, saying, "Please fight with strength, keeping an optimistic heart that can endure the chemotherapy, and believing that this treatment will reduce and eliminate the cancer in your body. I will try my best to be of even a little help. Please feel free to reach out anytime."
In another message, he added, "I will support you with my prayers," and, "You will surely overcome this and look back on these times as just a memory. Believe in it like a child and keep moving forward."
Tragically, the cancer later metastasized to her brain, and she passed away on October 18, 2024. Her older sister shared the sad news with ZOBIN and expressed her gratitude.
ZOBIN expressed his deep condolences, saying, "I know that no words can provide comfort," and, "Although we will meet Ji-na again, who has left us a little early, I will pray for the family who must overcome this sorrow and live on for her sake. Please take care of your heart."
The sister told SBS Entertainment News, "My sister was so happy when she received the message from ZOBIN. She was having a very hard time after her sudden terminal cancer diagnosis, and the fact that ZOBIN, who must receive so many messages as a celebrity, personally replied and cheered her on was a huge source of strength." She added, "I really wanted to share that both my sister and our family were able to endure those difficult and lonely times thanks to ZOBIN."
