Cha Seung-won has opened up about the challenging journey of taking on baking for the show 'Bonjour Bakery'.

At the press conference for the new Coupang Play variety show 'Bonjour Bakery', held on the morning of the 6th at Community House Masil in Myeong-dong, Seoul, Cha Seung-won shared his honest feelings about the pressure he faced, saying, "When I was first asked to do this, it felt vague. I had to do the baking myself, and the scope of it was so vast. I was worried that if I did a bad job, I might get criticized. Because of that pressure, I was skeptical."

'Bonjour Bakery' is a healing baking variety show set in a quiet rural village, featuring Korea's first 'Senior Dessert Cafe' where seniors who know the taste of life and the bakery staff who know the taste of happiness share sweet comfort and warmth. The show features a unique concept as a 'Yes Senior Zone' cafe, where only seniors aged 65 and over and their companions are allowed to enter. Actors Cha Seung-won and Lee Gi-taek serve as the 'kitchen team,' while Kim Hee-ae and Kim Seon-ho work as the 'hall team' staff.

Cha Seung-won, who has showcased his exceptional cooking skills on shows like 'Three Meals a Day' and 'Korean Hostel in Spain', takes on French baking for the first time through 'Bonjour Bakery'. He explained his initial feelings of being overwhelmed, saying, "They say baking is a 'science.' You have to be precise, but I'm not very good at being precise. So I wondered if this would even be possible."

However, contrary to his worries, Cha Seung-won succeeded in making delicious bread and desserts in 'Bonjour Bakery', even handling delicate tasks that involved "over 10 steps in the process" and shaping them beautifully. Cha Seung-won humbly remarked, "It happened like magic."

Cha Seung-won continued, "I think this might be the most surprising program among all the things I've created so far," adding, "In terms of a sense of accomplishment, this variety show is the highest. Baking itself gave me an immense sense of achievement," revealing his high level of personal satisfaction.

Producer Park Geun-hyung, who reunited with Cha Seung-won following 'Korean Hostel in Spain', expressed his gratitude to the actor for his hard work, saying, "I'm editing it right now, and I feel sorry for Cha Seung-won. Looking at the footage, there are so many steps involved in making the bread that there's no time to rest. Cha Seung-won was making bread to the point where he couldn't even go to the bathroom."

'Bonjour Bakery', where you can see Cha Seung-won transform into a 'Cha-tissier', will premiere this coming Friday, the 8th, at 4:00 PM.
