The episode of 'Running Man' that aired on May 3 recorded a 2% '20-49 viewership rating' (based on the Seoul metropolitan area by Nielsen Korea), making it the number one variety show in its time slot. Notably, the show has seen its ratings rise for two consecutive weeks since surpassing the 800-episode milestone, proving the enduring power of this long-running program.
The episode featured CHUNG HA and SOMI of I.O.I, who reunited to celebrate their 10th debut anniversary, as they participated in the 'Different Flower Path' race. CHUNG HA surprised the cast by revealing the behind-the-scenes story, saying, "I called everyone and asked, 'It's our 10th anniversary, are we really not going to do anything?' and the reunion was settled in one go." When Jee Seokjin suggested, "Let's all get together again in 10 years," Kim Jong-kook retorted, "I'm not sure if you'll still be around by then," sending the set into a fit of laughter.
The two guests' variety show skills also shone. SOMI showed off her bold wit, telling HAHA, who got confused about which team he was on, "I'm on your team. I can't work with you like this." Meanwhile, CHUNG HA captivated viewers with her spectacular dance skills and by ultimately winning the final race.
Meanwhile, the upward trend for 'Running Man' is expected to continue. Actor Gong Myung will participate in the recording scheduled for May 4. Gong Myung, who recently garnered attention after being mentioned as a candidate for a 'Running Man rental member' on the YouTube channel 'Gym Jong Kook', has officially confirmed his appearance. His episode of 'Running Man' is scheduled to air later this month.
'Running Man' airs every Sunday at 6:10 PM.
