'The Wonderfools' is a superhero comic adventure about neighborhood people who accidentally gain superpowers at the end of the century in 1999 and struggle to save the world by fighting against villains who threaten peace. On the 29th, Netflix heightened anticipation by releasing character stills featuring the four distinct charms of the trio who accidentally gained superpowers—Eun Chae-ni (Park Eun-bin), Son Kyung-hoon (Choi Dae-hoon), and Kang Ro-bin (Im Sung-jae)—along with Lee Woon-jung (Cha Eun-woo), a man who becomes entangled with them.

First, 'Eun Chae-ni,' the granddaughter of the owner of 'Keunson Restaurant,' the most popular spot in Haeseong City, has lived having given up on everything due to a heart condition she has suffered from since childhood. Perhaps because of this, she grew up with a reckless personality and is known as the 'official troublemaker of Haeseong City.' In the released stills, 'Chae-ni' looks flustered by her teleportation ability, which activates at any given moment, sparking curiosity about the unpredictable plot.

'Lee Woon-jung,' a special-hire civil servant in the civil affairs office who is shrouded in mystery, tries to live quietly while hiding his telekinesis, but he unintentionally gets involved with the Haeseong City trio. Images of him as a neat civil servant wearing glasses and as a mysterious figure using telekinesis have been released together, adding to the curiosity about the story he is hiding.

'Son Kyung-hoon,' who has earned the nickname 'Haeseong City's biggest complainer' for filing all sorts of complaints with the Haeseong City Hall, is shown looking bewildered while staring at pot lids stuck to both of his hands, raising laughs about how his 'sticky' ability will be utilized.

On the other hand, 'Kang Ro-bin,' a timid character known as 'Haeseong City's pushover,' shows a surprising 'superhuman strength' by easily lifting a police car, raising expectations for the delightful synergy and performance the four characters will create.

'The Wonderfools' promises to create a unique comic ensemble through the delightful chemistry and the chaotic superpower adaptation process of the four characters, each with different personalities and abilities. Furthermore, the work is gathering anticipation as it marks the reunion of director Yoo In-sik and actor Park Eun-bin from 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo'.

However, the biggest risk 'The Wonderfools' faces is Cha Eun-woo. Initially, 'The Wonderfools' was highly anticipated as a project that Cha Eun-woo finished filming before his military enlistment, but the atmosphere has changed recently as Cha Eun-woo became embroiled in a tax controversy. Although Cha Eun-woo apologized for the controversy and took steps to resolve the situation by paying an additional 13 billion won in taxes, the negative public sentiment toward him has not yet subsided. This raises concerns about whether the works he appears in might be affected.

Meanwhile, 'The Wonderfools' is scheduled to be released via Netflix on May 15 (Fri).
