Actor Song Joong-ki (40) and his British wife, Katy Louise Saunders (41), appeared together on a charity concert stage to share a heartwarming message.
According to Gaon Soloists on the 21st, the couple participated as narrators for the 7th regular concert, "The Carnival of the Animals," held at the IBK Chamber Hall of the Seoul Arts Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on the 18th. The performance was organized by Gaon Soloists, an integrated chamber music group featuring both disabled and non-disabled musicians, to commemorate the 46th Disabled Persons' Day.
The couple, who have long shown interest in sharing and charitable acts, reportedly volunteered to participate after learning about the purpose of the concert. During the first half of the performance, they took the stage to narrate "Introduction and Royal March of the Lion" from Camille Saint-Saens' "The Carnival of the Animals."
In the performance video, Katy began the narration in English, followed by Song Joong-ki, who continued in Korean. Sitting side-by-side on stage, the two delivered the message in calm voices, deepening the audience's immersion in the performance.
The narration they delivered included the lines: "My son, grow up like a lion. A lion acts with dignity for its beliefs and those it loves. Sometimes people mistake a lion's physical strength for what makes it strong, but true strength comes from loyalty, trust, and gentleness."
This stage held special significance as it marked the couple's first official joint appearance since their marriage. Song Joong-ki and Katy met through an acquaintance in 2021 and developed a romantic relationship. They registered their marriage in 2023 and welcomed their first son. They later became parents to two children after the birth of their daughter in November 2024.
Meanwhile, British actress Katy Louise Saunders was born in London and raised in Milan, Italy, and is known to have majored in business administration at Bocconi University. She currently resides in Italy with family.
