‘Salmokji : Whispering Water’ cleared its break-even point just seven days after release and is now eyeing the 1 million mark.
According to the Korean Film Council’s box office data on April 15, ‘Salmokji : Whispering Water’ drew 64,689 moviegoers nationwide on the 14th, holding the No. 1 spot. Its cumulative admissions stand at 862,332.
The film opened on April 8 and has topped the box office for seven straight days, surpassing its break-even point of 800,000 admissions. It remains firmly at No. 1 in its second week, making a 1 million milestone this week highly likely.
‘Salmokji : Whispering Water’ is a horror film about a mysterious figure captured on a road-view image. When a crew returns to a reservoir to reshoot, they confront something lurking in the dark, deep water. The film is directed by Lee Sang-min and stars Kim Hye-yoon, Lee Jong-won, Kim Jun-han, Kim Young-sung, Yoon Jae-chan, Oh Dong-min, and Jang Da-a.
