Singer Kang Daniel has stepped in to officially promote the Army training center.
He recently appeared on the Army’s official YouTube channel, revealing that he is serving as a squad leader at the training center. Looking healthier than before, he greeted viewers, saying, “Salute, I’m Squad Leader Kang Daniel from the 25th Regiment, 3rd Training Battalion, 11th Company.”
A squad leader commands a squad of about 6 to 12 trainees.
In the video, Kang explained how assistant instructors are selected: “There’s a first round through applications via the Military Manpower Administration and the specialist-soldier selection. After that, there’s a second round at the training center with a fitness test and an interview. Even if you don’t perfectly meet every qualification, you can still go for it. I went through this process and was selected as a squad leader.”
He also highlighted the role’s upside: “The biggest pride is leading many trainees during your service. It’s a chance to build leadership,” he said, adding, “My goal is to guide trainees and shape them into elite soldiers. I’ll give it my all. Please show a lot of interest and apply.”
Kang Daniel enlisted in February and is serving as an assistant instructor at the Army training center. He is scheduled to be discharged next August.
