B1A4 is celebrating its 15th anniversary with its first release since going independent.
B1A4 will drop its ninth mini album, "SET," on April 21, marking the trio’s first comeback in about two years and three months. It’s also their first project since ending their exclusive contract with WM Entertainment and launching their own company, arriving roughly four months into this new chapter.
The group purposely chose the same date as their debut album, "Let’s Fly," to underscore the 15th-anniversary milestone. "SET" plays on the idea that B1A4 is complete only when all three are together―“three” as a unit and a full “set.” Following the flow from the 4th studio album "Origine" and 8th mini album "Connect," the message is that their connection stayed intact through time apart and now takes a clear shape.
The title track, "Rock Paper Scissors," is a dance-pop cut built on a rhythmic bass, synths, and groovy drums. Centered on the idea “one is good, two is better, three is best,” it unpacks the natural connections between people.
CNU helmed the overall production this time. Known for penning self-composed tracks, he went further by writing and composing every song and overseeing the entire album concept as a producer. He was deeply involved in the music video planning, concept, styling, and more to elevate the final product. SANDEUL and GONGCHAN also joined the lyric-writing, helped build the tracklist, and contributed to the album planning to complete the group’s color together.
After their contract with WM ended, B1A4 founded B1A4 Company to move independently. CNU, SANDEUL, and GONGCHAN serve as in-house directors, taking the reins of their activities directly.
Now in their 16th year, B1A4 plans to spend more focused time with fans starting with this comeback. Music show promotions will run for one week, followed by a year of activities through various content and projects.
