Lee Hyo-ri’s fellow Fin.K.L members stayed by her side throughout the funeral, offering steady support and comfort.
Her father, the late Lee Joong-kwang, passed away on March 12. The funeral procession was held on the morning of the 14th. Lee Hyo-ri and her husband, Lee Sang-soon, served as chief mourners and remained at the wake with family. Lee Sang-soon took a brief leave from his MBC FM4U radio show following the passing of his father-in-law.
Fin.K.L members also paid their respects during the funeral period. On the 14th, Ock Joo-hyun shared on her social media, “A long time together with someone I missed so much. We’ll share both sorrow and joy.” She added, “Being together all day felt warm. It was like a tender, bittersweet date. Our leader, you did so well,” sending comfort to Lee Hyo-ri.
She also posted a photo with Sung Yu-ri from the funeral, writing, “There wasn’t a single moment you weren’t lovable,” highlighting the members’ unchanging bond.
The late Mr. Lee ran a barbershop and supported his family. Lee Hyo-ri has often recalled memories with her father on TV and in her music. In particular, “A Daughter of a Barber Shop” (literal translation), a track on her 2008 album "It’s Hyorish," captured memories of her childhood and family.
In the 2023 program "Canada Check-in," Lee Hyo-ri shared that her father was battling an illness. A moment in which she heard, “He was proud of his daughter,” and replied, “Dad, I haven’t forgotten you,” moved many viewers.
