BIGBANG landed on the Coachella stage in the U.S.
On April 13 (KST), BIGBANG closed out Coachella’s Outdoor Theatre stage in Indio, California, delivering about 60 minutes of non-stop hits.
The opening was massive. A giant LED backdrop simulated a rocket shot into space as dancers waved BIGBANG flags among floating meteors. Then G-DRAGON, TAEYANG, and DAESUNG emerged bathed in red light and seized the crowd in seconds.
Backed by a live band, they fired the starting shot with a remix of "BANG BANG BANG" and kept the detonations coming with "FANTASTIC BABY." Even with the audience area dimmed by the lighting design, the chants and singalongs roared through the field.
“Coachella, what’s up! It took a long time to get here. BIGBANG is finally back,” G-DRAGON shouted, cranking the energy even higher. DAESUNG added, “My name is DAESUNG. We waited so long. Let’s make this a night we’ll never forget.” TAEYANG greeted the crowd with, “Hello Coachella, you ready?” and owned the moment with his trademark intensity.
The setlist distilled 20 years of BIGBANG. "SOBER," "A Fool of Tears," "LOSER," "HARU HARU," "Lies," and an instrumental of "Tonight" rolled out one after another. Then "BAD BOY," "WE LIKE 2 PARTY," and "HOME SWEET HOME" kept the momentum sprinting and unified the crowd.
Solo stages hit hard. TAEYANG went shirtless for "RINGA LINGA" and lit up the stage. G-DRAGON stamped his singular presence with "POWER." When the two teamed for "GOOD BOY," the crowd hit peak frenzy. DAESUNG flipped the script with trot, delivering "HANDO-CHOGUA" and "Look at Me, Gwisun" ― a rare and playful genre switch for Coachella.
After surging back into "HOME SWEET HOME," "BAD BOY," and "WE LIKE 2 PARTY," they closed with the encore "Still Life." During the song, the voice of former member T.O.P played, drawing instant attention from fans.
“At the end, TAEYANG said, “This year marks BIGBANG’s 20th anniversary. Tonight means so much to us.” DAESUNG added, “Thank you for making an unforgettable moment.” G-DRAGON teased what’s next: “We’re just getting started. Something really big is coming this year.”
The show marked BIGBANG’s first appearance at Coachella and a symbolic kickoff to their 20th anniversary. They were set to perform in 2020, but it was canceled due to COVID-19. Six years later, they finally took the Coachella stage.
BIGBANG will return to Coachella for a second performance on April 20.
