Girls' Generation member and actor Seohyun shared photos of the calluses on her fingers from intense violin practice and opened up about how she felt after wrapping her performance.
On March 16, Seohyun posted several behind-the-scenes photos from her prep and the stage on her social media. One shot in particular drew attention: deep calluses etched into her fingertips after long hours of practice.
“It was a great honor to take on a new challenge in my life through this performance,” she wrote. “I was happy and grateful throughout.” She added, “Every moment with people who love music was so precious to me. It became a valuable experience that taught me a lot.”
She also spoke candidly about the pressure. “When I first decided to try, fear came first,” Seohyun admitted. “As a non-major stepping onto a big stage as a special guest for an amateur performance, I did feel the pressure.”
Still, she continued, “With the support and encouragement of good people during preparation, I let go of my self-doubt and faced the challenge with a happy heart.”
Seohyun didn’t forget to thank her collaborators. “I’m grateful to Teacher Kim Hyun-jung, who taught me everything from A to Z, and to Conductor Jo Sang-wook for the warm encouragement,” she said. “Thanks to the orchestra members, my acquaintances, and my fans for the cheers that gave me courage.”
“Though I was clumsy, thank you for joining me in a performance filled with sincerity,” she concluded. “I hope classical music becomes a closer part of many people’s everyday lives.”
On March 13, Seohyun took the stage as an amateur collaborator at the Sol Philharmonic Orchestra’s 8th Regular Concert at Lotte Concert Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul, performing pieces including Vittorio Monti’s “Csardas.” Proceeds from the concert will be donated to support groups including orchestras for people with disabilities.
