TVING’s "EXchange"Season 2 alum and announcer Lee Na-yeon has donated KRW 10 million to support period products for girls from low-income backgrounds in Korea.
On the 11th, international development NGO G Foundation (led by Park Chung-kwan) said, “In honor of International Women’s Day on March 8, Lee Na-yeon joined this donation. The funds will be used to provide sanitary pad and hygiene kits to girls in vulnerable situations who struggle to afford period products.”
Since 2017, G Foundation has run a program to ensure safer menstrual periods for girls in Korea. The initiative has expanded from supplying period products to also providing underwear, improving hygiene facilities, and offering sex education programs to help teens live in a more stable environment.
“I wanted every girl in our society to grow up healthy without worrying about basic hygiene during their period, especially on International Women’s Day,” Lee shared. “I hope girls in vulnerable situations feel the support of adults cheering them on and can carry on their daily lives with a little more strength.”
Park Jin, a team leader at G Foundation, added, “There are still girls who feel burdened by the cost of period products. We’re grateful to announcer Lee Na-yeon for her meaningful contribution on International Women’s Day. G Foundation will continue to provide diverse support so girls in vulnerable situations can live in safe, healthy environments.”
Meanwhile, Lee Na-yeon debuted as an announcer at JTBC Golf in 2021 and appeared on the 2022 dating reality show "EXchange 2." She currently connects with subscribers through daily vlogs and lifestyle content on her personal YouTube channel, while continuing to engage in philanthropy and social impact efforts.
