ENHYPEN member HEESEUNG (24), now five years into the group’s debut, is leaving to make a fresh start as a solo artist.
BELIFT LAB said, “We had in-depth discussions about the members’ visions for the future and the group’s direction. In that process, we confirmed HEESEUNG’s clear musical goals and decided to respect them.” The company announced that ENHYPEN, which debuted in 2020, will continue as a six-member group without HEESEUNG.
The agency added, “It’s hard to fully explain the entire process in a short message, but this is a decision made after long and careful consideration,” asking fans to “understand that this is a choice for HEESEUNG’s future.”
HEESEUNG also broke the news in a handwritten letter.
He wrote, “Many ENGENE will be shocked to hear my news, and I know a lot of you must have questions about this sudden announcement.” Reflecting on the past six years, he said, “It was a precious time that’s hard to sum up in words. Thanks to the members and fans, I was able to take a step closer to my dream.”
HEESEUNG stressed that he wanted to pursue solo activities and discussed it with the company. “I’ve kept up with my personal work, spending a lot of time hoping to share it with ENGENE,” he said. “There’s so much I want to show you, but I also didn’t want to put my own ambitions ahead of the team.” He asked fans to look forward to what he’ll bring as a solo artist.
Last month, ENHYPEN released their seventh mini album, "THE SIN : VANISH," and continued promotions. The album became their fourth double million-seller, keeping the momentum strong.
