Esom Serves Steel-Eyed Charisma in First Look at SBS Upcoming Drama 'Phantom Lawyer'

SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama "Phantom Lawyer" has dropped the first stills of Esom as a razor-sharp attorney.

Billed as the next entry in SBS’s punchy legal lineup, "Phantom Lawyer" (written by Kim Ga-young and Kang Cheol-gyu, directed by Shin Jung-hoon) follows a “possessed” lawyer, Shin I-rang (played by Yoo Yeon-seok), who helps the dead resolve their lingering grudges, and a “cold-blooded elite lawyer,” Han Na-hyun (played by Esom), who stakes everything on winning. Esom plays Han Na-hyun, a top talent at powerhouse firm Taebaek in the Seocho legal world, boasting a flawless 100% win rate.

In the stills released on the 9th, Han Na-hyun commands attention in a perfectly tailored suit and with an unflinching gaze. Her sleek black hair and all-black suit underscore her cool precision, and just standing in the courtroom, she radiates the aura of a proven ace. Unmoved by emotion and always choosing the most efficient path, she’s the type who can’t rest until every case she takes ends in a win.

But even the seemingly perfect Han Na-hyun carries old wounds she rarely shows. Cracks begin to form in the painful story she’s kept sealed behind her composure, and meeting Shin I-rang―who leads with trust in people and their stories―gradually draws out another side of her. After Shin I-rang steps into an unexpected divine realm, a key question is how the ultra-rational Han Na-hyun will respond and what choices she’ll make.
