At the famously old-school Grammy Awards, Netflix’s animated feature "KPop Demon Hunters" scored a breakthrough as its soundtrack cut “Golden” took home a trophy.
At the 68th Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony in Los Angeles on the 1st (local time), "KPop Demon Hunters"won Best Song Written for Visual Media.
The category recognizes the year’s top original song created for film, TV, and other visual media. The award goes to the writers, and “Golden” nabbed the win for EJAE, Teddy, 24, and the production team IDO.
It marks the first Grammy win for K-pop songwriters and producers―a barrier long seen as unbreakable. BTS previously earned five nominations but came up short; this victory signals a new chapter. "KPop Demon Hunters" is also viewed as a strong contender for Best Original Song at the Oscars in March, fueling anticipation that the global K-pop wave will only grow stronger.
