The Jan. 27 episode of SBS’s "Kick a Goal" unveils the first Group B qualifier of the show’s second G League, featuring a heavyweight showdown between perennial contenders FC Actionista and FC World Class.
Actionista has long been World Class’s kryptonite, owning the rivalry with a commanding 5-2 record over seven meetings. But momentum shifted at the last GIFA Cup qualifiers, where a Jai-fueled World Class edged Actionista 4-3, handing them a stinging early exit. Now, Actionista’s back with headline-making reinforcements and a clear mission: redemption.
The club has added three key players this season to build a supercharged lineup: actor Kwon Yi-soo, a breakout “Goal Audition” rookie; OG ace Joo Myung, who turned heads with a highlight-reel overhead kick; and veteran keeper Ahn Hye-kyung, the squad’s most durable ironwoman.
Joo Myung, formerly of FC Wonder Woman and Phoenix United, and Ahn Hye-kyung, who last suited up for FC Bulnabi, both double down on their actor-athlete identities with the move to Actionista. With their arrivals, the team boasts a true end-to-end balance ― a finished product on paper. Captain Jung Hye-in is already talking big, calling this “the strongest roster since we started.” All eyes are now on the newly rebuilt “Orange Brigade” to see if they deliver on the hype this season.
Head coach Park Joo-ho, a student of modern football, is rolling out a bold game plan to topple the four-star champions of World Class: a Dutch-style total football approach where every player attacks and defends as one. He’ll also lean into patient build-up play through ball-savvy goalkeeper Ahn Hye-kyung to control the tempo. If it clicks, Actionista could be on the verge of an Orange Renaissance on the field.
Catch the fully loaded FC Actionista painting the pitch orange when "Kick a Goal" airs Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 9 p.m. KST on SBS.
