As buzz builds around a spin-off group featuring contestants from Mnet’s "Boys Planet" Season 2, VERIVERY’s KANGMIN, confirmed he won’t be part of the lineup―while sending his full support to the trainees gearing up to debut.

Industry sources say "Boys Planet 2" alums Choi Rip-woo, Kang Woo-jin, and Jang Han-eum are preparing to launch as a new group. CJ ENM is set to produce, with management by FNC Entertainment. Final member details and a debut timeline haven’t been locked in, and FNC responded to reports by saying discussions are ongoing.

Sharing an update on a fan communication app, KANGMIN cheered on his former teammates: “I saw the articles about the boys―maybe it’s official? Go get it, guys! KANGMIN hyung is rooting for you.” He also addressed why he’s not joining the unit and where his focus lies now.

“I’ll keep working to be loved as Yoo Kang-min,” he wrote. “I went on the show to debut and didn’t make it―now it’s about choosing what’s next and giving it my all. I want to make the people who supported me then happy, too.”

After finishing just outside the final lineup at No. 9 on "Boys Planet 2," KANGMIN returned to VERIVERY. The group wrapped a successful comeback in December with their fourth single, "Lost and Found," marking a new Chapter 2 after all members re-signed. KANGMIN is also expanding his slate with overseas fan events and has booked the premium short-form drama "Jump Boy LIVE," continuing his push into acting.
