YouTube mukbang star Tzuyang turned a young fan’s request into real-world impact, donating 50 million wonto the Asan Medical Center Children’s Hospital in Seoul.
Marking her milestone of 13 million subscribers, the creator revealed on her channel that a 13-year-old viewer inspired the gift. The fan wrote that they watched Tzuyang’s videos to push through the pain of repeated surgeries and asked if she would join a McDonald’s “Lucky Burger” donation relay.
Tzuyang answered with a challenge video polishing off 10 Lucky Burgers and pledged a donation―then followed through, sending 50 million won under the name “Tzuyang and 13 Million Subscribers.”
“My subscribers made 13 million possible, and I wanted to turn that into something we could share,” she said. “A message from a young viewer who found comfort in my videos really stayed with me. I hope this helps kids going through tough treatments, even just a little.”
According to the hospital, the funds will support a range of programs at the Asan Medical Center Children’s Hospital, including aid for pediatric patients whose schooling has been disrupted by treatment.
This isn’t Tzuyang’s first act of giving. As an honorary ambassador for the Korea Central Volunteer Center, she recently joined a winter fuel drive, delivering 4,000 coal briquettes and essential supplies to heat-insecure households. Separately, she donated 5 million won from her fashion label Gardens to a briquette charity. She has also contributed to food assistance programs for vulnerable communities, COVID-19 relief efforts, wildfire recovery, and children’s welfare organizations, steadily growing her positive impact.
