Anticipation is surging for BTS’s upcoming world tour.
BTS will stage “BTS World Tour ‘ARIRANG’ in Goyang” for three nights on April 9, 11 and 12 at the Main Stadium of the Goyang Sports Complex. The fan-club pre-sale on Jan. 22 sold out every seat across all three dates. In the U.S., overwhelming demand prompted an extra show each in Tampa and Stanford. Notably, BTS will become only the second act after Coldplay to headline a solo concert at Stanford Stadium.
“BTS World Tour ‘ARIRANG’” kicks off in Goyang before hitting Tokyo Dome on April 17-18, then heads to North America, Europe, Latin America and across Asia. In total, the run spans 81 shows in 34 cities ― the most dates ever for a K-pop tour.
The global spotlight keeps growing. On Jan. 19, Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum publicly welcomed the group’s upcoming stop, calling it “a historic moment.” BTS will play Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros on May 7, 9 and 10, drawing wide attention from international media.
Forbes hailed the trek as “a new benchmark in the touring history of Korean artists,” while USA Today predicted the group would “make history once again.”
Meanwhile, BTS will release their fifth studio album, “ARIRANG,” on March 20. The 14-track set explores the group’s identity, longing and deep love, promising candid music that captures who BTS is right now.
