On the Jan. 22 episode, the moms stepped away and the cast headed out for one-on-one dates.
Seo Han-gyeol and Jo Eun-na-rae seemed locked in on each other. But after their date, Jo admitted, “Something felt a little flat ― like the spark between a man and a woman wasn’t quite there.”
Han-gyeol pushed back, reassuring her: “Today was the most fun for me. I felt like I finally showed how I get around someone I like. Honestly, I want to spend most of my remaining time here with you.”
Their talk turned practical. Referencing comments from Jo’s mother, Han-gyeol shared, “I’ve always preferred a partner who works. I like the idea of both spouses having careers.”
Then he added, “But if income isn’t steady, focusing on running the household can create more value.” The line left the studio panel stunned.
Kim Yo-han warned it was the kind of thing that could understandably upset Jo, while Seo Jang-hoon called it “a very offensive comment ― it dismisses her entire career,” adding, “The moment you say it out loud, you’re in the red.”
Jo, however, stayed open-minded: she said she could consider being a full-time homemaker, noting, “I can’t say it’s completely off the table.”
Han-gyeol stressed how serious he was: “That’s how deeply I’m thinking about this. I debated even asking. People don’t usually have this talk unless they’re right before marriage ― not even after a year of dating.”
Then came the twist. Reacting to his comments later on, Jo said, “Our conversation actually made my feelings for him grow,” stunning everyone on set.
The MCs were speechless. Seo Jang-hoon said, “I’m floored. We’ve never had a twist like this. This is more shocking than any episode about divorce retreats. Of everything we’ve taped recently, this moment surprised me the most,” cracking up the studio.
Jo explained why: “He tried to address conflict calmly and logically, in real time ― that felt so put-together and, honestly, attractive. I thought, ‘That’s impressive ― and very manly.’”
By episode’s end, the men made their date picks: Kim Hyun-jun chose Kim Tae-in; Jang Min-cheol chose Kim Hyun-jin; Seo Han-gyeol chose Jo Eun-na-rae; and Lee Seung-hak chose Kim Myo-jin. With Moon Se-hoon’s decision still up in the air, viewers will have to wait until next week to see where his heart lands.
