On the Jan. 20 episode of SBS’s “The Ballad of Us Radio”, the show connected by phone with Seo, a self-professed ballad superfan.
“I caught a rerun by chance, and the very first stage I saw was Song Ji-woo’s,” he shared. “She was singing the classic ‘Like the Smile You Wore When You Let Me Go,’ and that uniquely textured voice was so captivating. Watching her perform made me decide, ‘I’m going to keep tuning into this show.’”
“Because she was the first one I saw, I just kept rooting for her,” he added.
Song Ji-woo returned the love. “I said hello to you at the Entertainment Awards, and I couldn’t believe it―I kept pinching myself,” she said, adding, “I watch 'My Little Old Boy' every Sunday. I’m a real fan.”
Calling Song his “one-pick,” Seo praised, “She makes every song feel brand-new. I think she’s an artist who can go the distance.”
He also offered encouragement about the recent finale. “When the rankings were announced, her expression looked so sad that it broke my heart. But this is just the beginning,” he said. “This goes for the entire Top 12: the real contest is who lasts. I hope they all become artists who keep singing great songs for a long time.”
