On the Jan. 20 episode, the team shook off its so-called “Daejeon jinx,” completing the mission on the fourth try and capping it with a celebratory meal.
With the streak snapped thanks to SULLYOON’s clutch performance, the crew headed out to meet their final “gap friend” with spirits high.
Before the meetup, the foursome detoured for food. Daejeon native SULLYOON suggested keeping it close to the next location and pitched the city’s pride: kalguksu, a steaming bowl of knife-cut noodle soup perfect for the cold snap.
She led them to a spot a friend had sworn by ― but the line snaking down the block in below-freezing temps forced a retreat.
“It’s a bit of a hotspot,” SULLYOON admitted, then floated a backup: “How about spicy stir-fried tofu?”
“I’m easy ― I’ll eat anything,” Yoo Jae-suk said, while HAEWON quipped, “If there’s no table, let’s hit the place next door,” politely passing on a long wait. She added, “A chain works for me,” to which Jae-suk joked, “Convenience store is fine by me,” prioritizing speed over picks.
Yoo Yeon-seok wasn’t having it. “We came all the way to Daejeon ― let’s get kalguksu,” he urged. “With lines like that, I need to know what the fuss is about.”
SULLYOON steered them to another kalguksu joint. That one had a wait, too ― and so did the next ― but the third try finally got them in the door.
Even the seasoned Yoo duo was stunned by how hard Daejeon rides for its noodles. One slurp of the piping-hot broth later, the verdict was in: totally worth the chase.
A teaser at the end of the episode promised fresh chemistry next time, with actors Lee Sun-bin and Kim Young-dae dropping in as “gap friends.”
