Romance drama film "Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight" sped past 800,000 admissions nationwide just 23 days after release.
According to the Korean Film Council’s box-office tracker on the afternoon of the 14th, the film’s cumulative ticket sales have topped 800,000. That puts it within striking distance of 2024’s "Hear Me : Our Summer" (802,406 admissions) and on pace to outdraw last year’s "
Secret: Untold Melody" (824,156) as soon as this week.
Opening on December 24, "Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight" cleared its break-even point of 720,000 admissions in just 17 days. While "Once We Were Us", which premiered a week later, has the overall lead, Even If’s staying power is proving formidable.
With Korean cinema in a prolonged slump, the twin momentum of these two under-10-billion-won romance titles is injecting some welcome heat into theaters.
The film follows Seo-yoon (Shin Si-a), who loses the previous day’s memories after an accident, and Jae-won (Choo Young-woo), who fills in the blanks for her every morning. As they piece together a love worth remembering, the young leads deliver a tender, quietly devastating melodrama.
