The “Project Y” team observed a moment of silence to honor the late Ahn Sung-ki, who passed away on January 5.
At the film’s press screening held the afternoon of January 8 at Lotte Cinema World Tower in Seoul, stars Han So-hee, Jeon Jong-seo, Kim Shin-rok, Kim Sung-cheol, YooA, and director Lee Hwan paused for a brief tribute before the Q&A began.
With Ahn’s funeral proceedings underway, the cast arrived in mostly black attire as a sign of respect, taking a quiet moment together to pay their respects to the beloved screen legend.
Project Y follows two women in the heart of a glittering city who, standing at the edge of desperation, steal illicit cash and gold bars―setting off a high-stakes chain of events. It marks the commercial debut of director Lee Hwan, known on the indie circuit for Park Hwa-young and Young Adult Matters. The film opens January 21.
