On the Jan. 1 broadcast of SBS’s new series "Match to Marry," hosts Seo, Lee Yo-won and Kim Yo-han shared their excitement for what’s to come.
The premise: 10 single men and women ― and their 10 moms ― move in together for six days and five nights, all chasing one goal: marriage. It’s billed as Korea’s first parent-participation dating show.
“This is my first time with a dating show that brings moms into the mix,” Seo joked. “I’m basically a dating-show expert ― I hosted 'Love Naggers' for seven years, and I watch a ton of romance shows. And when I think about it, I’m kind of a ‘mom expert’ too.”
Asked if he’d ever sign up as a contestant, Kim Yo-han laughed it off: “Even just the highlight reel made me think I couldn’t do it. There’s too much to juggle ― the woman you like, your own mom, and the other mom, too. It’s a lot.”
Lee Yo-won, meanwhile, said she’d be game: “I think it’d be so much fun. My eldest daughter and I talk about marriage openly, so I’d really enjoy it.”
Still, Seo offered a reality check: “There are plenty of hurdles ahead. The moms are definitely not going to sit on the sidelines,” he teased, hinting at the drama to come.
