Virtual K-pop group PLAVE and its label VLAST are closing out the year by backing children in state care as they prepare for independent living.

On Dec. 30, child-welfare organization Green Umbrella ChildFund Korea announced that PLAVE and VLAST donated 100 million won. The funds will go toward regular savings contributions in 2026 through the Child Development Account (CDA), a matched-savings program that helps children in protective care build assets as they transition out of the system.

Last December, PLAVE and VLAST also donated 100 million won―raised through profits from a fan-made emoji project, personal contributions from the members, and VLAST’s own funds―to Green Umbrella to support at-risk expectant mothers.

This year’s gift is aimed at helping children on the cusp of aging out of care make a steadier leap into society, the organization said.

“We hope to be a small source of strength as children prepare for independence,” PLAVE said. “May this donation help cheer them on toward a brighter tomorrow.”

“We’re grateful for their steady generosity, and we hope this donation leads to meaningful, tangible change for children in care and families in crisis,” said Shin Jeong-won, head of social contribution partnerships at Green Umbrella ChildFund Korea. “We’ll continue expanding support so every child can grow up happily―from birth to independence.”
