Kim Woo-bin and Shin Mina have officially tied the knot after nearly a decade together ― and their big day played like a storybook romance, according to guests who were there.
The couple held a private ceremony on Dec. 20 at The Shilla Seoul. Venerable Pomnyun officiated the vows, actor Lee Kwang-soo served as emcee, and singer Car, the garden delivered the celebratory performance.
A single black-and-white wedding portrait released that morning quickly set the internet abuzz. With flurries swirling around them, the groom and bride cut a regal, romantic figure ― fittingly, the shoot reportedly coincided with Seoul’s first snowfall of the season.
The guest list rivaled a red carpet. Among those spotted were Ko Du-shim, Uhm Jung-hwa, Lee Kwang-soo, D.O. of EXO, Park Kyung-lim, Kim Eui-sung, Kim Tae-ri, Kong Hyo-jin, V of BTS, Ryu Jun-yeol, Ahn Bo-hyun, Yoon Kyung-ho, hit producer Na Young-seok, and star screenwriter Kim Eun-sook ― all there to celebrate the couple’s new chapter.
Kim Woo-bin kept it classic in a sharp black tuxedo, while Shin Mina stunned in an off-the-shoulder gown intricately adorned with floral detailing.
Choosing Venerable Pomnyun as officiant carried special meaning. In 2017, as Kim underwent treatment for nasopharyngeal cancer, the monk’s teachings and guidance were said to be a source of strength and comfort.
That bond has continued. In 2019, Kim attended a Buddha’s Birthday celebration at the Jungto Center in Seoul with close friend Jo In-sung, and this May he returned with Shin Mina to share in practice together.
The pair said “I do” at one of Korea’s premier five-star hotels ― but they shared the love even before walking down the aisle. Ahead of the wedding, they donated a combined 300 million won to several organizations, including the Hallym Burn Foundation, Asan Medical Center, and Good Friends, an international relief group.
Even the wedding favors made headlines. As an ambassador for a luxury beauty brand, Shin Mina prepared high-end skincare and fragrance gifts for guests as a thank-you.
The stars first met on a clothing ad shoot in 2014 and confirmed their relationship in 2015. Through career highs and health challenges ― including Kim’s treatment ― Shin stayed by his side, and the two only grew stronger over time.
