The romantic drama "Once We Were Us", starring Koo Kyo-hwan and Moon Ga-young, has dropped nine new stills that tease their undeniable on-screen spark.
"Once We Were Us" follows Eun-ho (Koo) and Jung-won (Moon), former lovers who reconnect by chance a decade after a blazing first love, tracing what remains―and what’s changed―since then. The film is a Korean remake of the 2018 Chinese hit "Us and Them."
Despite a 14-year age difference, the leads find an easy, lived-in rhythm that only heightens anticipation. In the newly released images, the pair glows through sun-dappled afternoons reading side by side and cozy moments in a shared apartment―glimpses that suggest how they became each other’s lifeline while scraping by in their 20s in Seoul.
A present-day still, meanwhile, seats them across from each other―older, a little guarded―quietly underscoring the distance of time and the shifts in their relationship. It all points to a romance that leans into empathy and ache over easy answers.
"Once We Were Us" opens in theaters across Korea on Dec. 31.
